Another set of A-listers has been recruited for "New Year's Eve". Zac Efron and Halle Berry are in negotiations to join the already star-studded cast ensemble, while Sarah Jessica Parker is on board to star in the film, so The Hollywood Reporter says.
Efron is offered a role of a bike messenger who ends up trying to fulfill New Year's Eve resolutions of Michelle Pfeiffer's character in exchange for tickets to a big party. Berry is plotted to portray a caterer who runs into a former flame. Meanwhile, Parker is set to be a mother to Abigail Breslin's character, someone who relies too much on her daughter for company.
Previously, Robert De Niro, Hilary Swank, Ashton Kutcher, Lea Michele, Jessica Biel and Sofia Vergara have also been reported to support the film by director Garry Marshall. They are in various stages of negotiations for roles in the movie.
Shooting is now scheduled to commence on February 1, 2011 in New York after previously planned for mid-December start. Second unit will be shot in Times Square over New Year's, THR further reports. "New Year's Eve", which is developed following the success of "Valentine's Day", is due December 9, 2011 in the U.S.
Zac Efron is currently in production for "The Lucky One". Halle Berry has just wrapped "Dark Tide" and will soon be seen in "Frankie and Alice". As for Sarah Jessica Parker, she was last seen in "Sex and the City 2" and is attached to star in "I Don't Know How She Does It".
