'G.I. Joe 2' Gets Release Date, Only Three Characters to Return

After booking Jon Chu to direct "G.I. Joe 2", Paramount Pictures has selected a release date for the movie. It has just been announced that this "G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra" sequel will hit theaters across the U.S. on August 10, 2012.

In another news, Rachel Nichols who starred as Shana 'Scarlett' O'Hara in the first film has caused frenzy by revealing only three characters that will return in the second movie. She tweeted on March 3, "GI JOE 2 News Flash: The only characters to return in the JON CHU directed sequel will be SNAKE EYES, STORM SHADOW, and DUKE..."

This means Lee Byung-hun, Ray Park and Channing Tatum are the only original cast joining the sequel though it was previously reported that all main actors have signed on for the next installment. This also raises speculation that Paramount wants to keep the budget relatively smaller than the $175 million price tag of "Rise of Cobra".

"G.I. Joe 2" has "Zombieland" writers, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, writing the script. Reese has stated they "will be faithful to the first film. We will not be ignoring events from the first in the second."

It is not known if the violations will damage the production, or prompt more delays. U2 rock star Bono, who composed the score for the musical, reportedly visited the show earlier this week to make sure everything was ready for opening night on March 15.

She explains, "She was making fun of me... I was focused on being kind of like, an example for Latinas; I didn't want them to be thinking that sexy is the only way to be powerful. But, y'know man, I'm gonna wrinkle up and lose it one day, and she reminded me of it, so I was like, 'I might as well put it to some use and go do the sexy thing for a while. Why not?' "

The star admits she wouldn't do porn or anything too extreme, but she's "open to some romantic comedy stuff". But she won't be giving up the action roles anytime soon, saying "It's so much fun; I love me some destruction."

Randy Jackson said it was not good and showed no uniqueness but Jennifer Lopez appreciated her stage presence.

Naima Adedapo brought the mood a notch higher with frequently-sung "Summertime" which was topped with sultry voice and finger snapping. "You're like an exotic flower," Jennifer said while Steven Tyler said it reminded him of an early Ella Fitzgerald. Kendra Chantelle sang the "Impossible" and Steven gushed, "You did it again, voice hot, clothes hot, style hot."

Rachel Zevita twisted Fiona Apple's "Criminal" to jazzy tune and emerged with red skirt underneath a cape. "A little too Broadway for me, not that that's a bad thing, Broadway could be your niche," Steven commented. Meanwhile, Karen Rodriguez mixed English and Spanish rendition of Mariah Carey's "Hero" and got a lot of "wow" from Jennifer.

Lauren Turner tried out Etta James' "Seven Day Fool". The three judges agreed that it was a spectacular performance with Steven describing it, "I loved it, it was a perfect, clean, complete sentence." Randy and co were still happy after that when Ashthon Jones sang "Love All Over Me". Jennifer said Ashthon has all the makings of a diva.

Jessica Simpson on the Lead as 'X Factor (US)' Judge

The teasers have run since November last year, but Simon Cowell is yet to announce the celebrities who will join him in the judging panel of "The X Factor (US)". People magazine has now tossed in one more name into the bowl, saying Jessica Simpson is the "frontrunner".

Jessica started her career as a singer before going for acting and then fashion designing. Her multi-talents are why she was chosen for this task. "She knows what she is talking about [and] is talented and likable," the source added. "But Simon's not in a rush to decide. The judges have to mentor on The X Factor - it's more than just turning up for a few hours a week to appear on TV."

The talent show is due to premiere this Fall. Simon had given his time on "American Idol" to concentrate on this project which has garnered popularity in U.K. "They have to get the decision right, which takes time. Those final decisions may not happen for a few weeks," the source added.

On another news, a rep for Cee-Lo has confirmed that the singer had never been offered a role on the show. "A meeting with Cee Lo did take place and the show was discussed, but he was never offered a role," said the rep. The Grammy-nominated singer is now an official judge of NBC's "The Voice".

Britney Spears: There's Nothing to Say About Troubled Past

Britney Spears is determined to keep the media focus on her music as she prepares to launch her latest comeback album, insisting she has "nothing to say" about her past troubles. The "Toxic" hitmaker has endured a rocky few years since losing custody of her two young sons in 2008, after refusing to hand them over to ex-husband Kevin Federline at the end of an agreed visitation - she was hospitalized twice in a month and her father was subsequently handed control of her personal and financial affairs.

The conservator ship still stands as Spears prepares for the release of her new album, "Femme Fatale", later this month. But she insists anyone who wants to discuss her private life in upcoming interviews will be shut down fast - because she refuses to get personal.

She tells V Magazine, "There's nothing to say. I'll let the music speak for me. I'm past all of that (tabloid gossip). I try to block it all out and not pay attention to anything they write about me in the magazines or online. I'm done with that. I have learned to always stay true to myself and never let what other people say about me change who I am. It's a really important lesson that took me a long time to learn."

And Spears admits she would have no problem giving up her public persona if she feels herself struggling under the pressure of the spotlight. She says, "I'd be a full-time mum, which would be cool. I'd miss my fans and all of the love the most, but I definitely would not miss having my picture taken everywhere I go. I think it's easier to let people in when you're younger, but when I became a mother I wanted more privacy for myself and my children."

Let's build a clean water well today!" Bieber's loyal following helped the birthday boy smash his target of $17,000 on Monday night, February 28 , before he officially turned 17 on Tuesday, March 1.

But Biel's charity appeal hasn't stirred the same amount of interest among her fans - only 14 people had pledged donations to the cause by Thursday afternoon, raising $885. The actress also raised funds for Charity: Water last year by completing a hike to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro with a group of celebrity pals.

Oscars Chief Explains Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin's Censored Kiss

An Oscars producer has denied deliberately censoring a kiss between Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin from the Academy Awards telecast. The "No Country for Old Men" co-stars appeared onstage on Sunday, February 27 to present a trophy together, greeting one another by dancing and exchanging a kiss.

Home viewers did not see their embrace as the cameras cut to an extended shot of Bardem's wife Penelope Cruz in the audience - a move which sparked speculation TV bosses wanted to hide the actors' clinch. But Bruce Cohen, one of two producers for the show, is adamant he would have been thrilled to broadcast the smooch, insisting it would have made a "great TV moment". He tells AfterElton.com, "It (the dance and the kiss) was unscripted, and the plan in the (outside broadcast) truck was always to cut to Penelope in the audience applauding Josh's and Javier's introduction, so that is what happened, just as they were starting to dance.

He adds, "Josh and Javier's moment (I saw them start to dance, but, to be honest, I have no idea if they kissed - that's the first I've heard of that) would have made a great TV moment, but since no one knew it was coming, we cut to the gorgeous Ms. Cruz as planned. By the time we cut back from her close-up, Josh and Javier were walking to the podium."

'Resident Evil 5' Set for September 2012 Release

Already scheduled for the same release date are "The Big Year", "Footloose", "The Three Musketeers" and "The Thing". "The Ides of March" is currently in production and boasts a critically-lauded cast, including Clooney, Ryan Gosling, Marisa Tomei, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Paul Giamatti.

They discover beauty amidst the world of the Big Top, and come together through their compassion for a special elephant. Against all odds - including the wrath of Marlena's charismatic but dangerous husband, August - Jacob and Marlena find lifelong love.

Francis Lawrence serves as a director while Richard LaGravenese writes the script. Oscar-wnning actor Christoph Waltz joins the cast ensemble as August.

Natalie Portman Dissed for Out-of-Wedlock Pregnancy

Despite Natalie Portman's rising profile during the last year, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee is apparently not in favor of the Oscar winner's personal life. He took a jab at the expecting mother for glamorizing out-of-wedlock pregnancy when talking on "The Michael Medved Show" this Monday, February 28.

Huckabee claimed Portman and other pregnant, unwed celebrities and single mothers are sending "problematic message" to the public. "One of the things that's troubling is that people see a Natalie Portman or some other Hollywood starlet who boasts of, 'Hey look, you know, we're having children, we're not married, but we're having these children,' and they're doing just fine," the Fox News Channel personality said.

The former presidential candidate further stated that other unmarried and single mothers are mostly not as lucky as these celebrities, elaborating "And I think it gives a distorted image that yes, not everybody hires nannies, and caretakers, and nurses. Most single moms are very poor, uneducated, can't get a job, and if it weren't for government assistance, their kids would be starving to death and never have health care. And that's the story that we're not seeing, and it's unfortunate that we glorify and glamorize the idea of [out-of-wedlock children]."

Huckabee previously mentioned Jamie Lynn Spears, who was pregnant at 16 years old, to urge people to think wisely about early pregnancy. "I hope it is not an encouragement to other 16-year-olds who think that is the best course of action. But at the same time I'm not going to condemn her," he said. "I just hope that she will make another right decision, and that's to give that child all the love and kindness and care that she can."

Natalie Portman herself recently criticized John Galliano for his racist comment in which he was videotaped declaring, "I love Hitler." "I am deeply shocked and disgusted by the video of John Galliano's comments that surfaced today. In light of this video, and as an individual who is proud to be Jewish, I will not be associated with Mr. Galliano in any way. I hope at the very least, these terrible comments remind us to reflect and act upon combating these still-existing prejudices that are the opposite of all that is beautiful," Benjamin Millepied's fiancee stated.

Selena Gomez Releases Official 'Who Says' Cover Art

Selena Gomez follows up "Who Says" music video teaser with an official cover art of the upcoming single. The "Monte Carlo" movie beauty looks dazzling in this artwork - she's twirling her hair and looking straight to the camera while slightly narrowing her eyes.

"You've got every right to a beautiful life" and "I wouldn't want to be anybody else" are the song's lyrics teased by Selena.

I will direct Dabangg 2: Arbaaz Khan

Bollywood actor-producer Arbaaz Khan, who has been on a high ever since his debut production “Dabangg” turned out to be a blockbuster, will now take the reigns as the director for the sequel of the masala action movie.
Director Abhinav Kashyap, who helmed “Dabangg”, has decided against directing the sequel, for reasons unknown.
“Hey guys it true, I will be directing the sequel of ‘Dabangg’. Abhinav for some personal n professional reasons opted out (sic),” Arbaaz posted on his Twitter page Thursday.
Arbaaz, who couldn’t make it big as an actor thanks to flops like “Daraar” and “Hello Brother”, hit the gold with his first production venture.
“Scripting has already started, the filming starts by early january. Start sound, camera, action. Inshallah ‘Dabangg 2′ will live up to all the expectations and be a huge blockbuster because of you all. God bless . Allah hafiz. Dabangg ho!,” added the 43-year-old.
Rumours that Kashyap won’t direct the “Dabangg” sequel began doing the rounds in November last year itself.
At that time, Kashyap had denied the news, and told IANS: “This is just a rumour. I want to know if I am not making it, then who is making it? I even spoke to Arbaaz (Khan)…even he doesn’t know from where these rumours are coming.”
It was speculated that either Arbaaz or his brother Sohail would be directing the movie, and the news has now turned out to be true.
“Dabangg”, starring Salman Khan and debutant Sonakshi Sinha, was the highest Bollywood grosser of 2010.
