James Bond gets back on track?

Daniel Craig could return as 007 as soon as next summer, following reports the latest James Bond film is back on track.
Sam Mendes has pulled out of negotiations to direct futuristic thriller The Hunger Games because MGM are ready to move forward with production on Bond 23, and shooting could begin by late summer or early autumn 2011, Deadline Hollywood reports.
The latest instalment from the top British spy was due to begin shooting this year, for release in 2011, directed by Sam and with Daniel returning as 007 for the third time. But the movie was put on indefinite hold, with EON Productions blaming the financial difficulties of MGM studios, which is reported to have a 3.7 billion-dollar (£2.4 billion) debt.
MGM announced this week that its lenders have agreed to extend the company's debt repayment period until October 29, 2010.
"The lenders took this action in support of the company's ongoing efforts to evaluate long-term strategic alternatives to maximize value for its stakeholders. MGM appreciates the continued support of its lender group throughout this process," it said.
The studio, which also has a stake in the forthcoming Hobbit movie, is going through a pre-packaged bankruptcy before Spyglass takes over.

Sonakshi, makes a hat-trick with Salman

Salman Khan has signed another film with the much talked-about debutante, Sonakshi Sinha.
Producer Sajid Nadiadwala drove down to the Sinhas’ bungalow to sign Sonakshi opposite Salman in the Hindi remake of the Tamil blockbuster Kick which Shirish Kunder will be directing for Nadiadwala.
Buzz is that, Sallu recommended Sonakshi for the female lead which Ileana had performed in the Telugu original.
Confirming the news, Sajid says, “It was Salman who was very keen that I sign Sonakshi opposite him in Kick remake. I became a hundred percent sure of her after I saw her in Dabangg. She and Salman make a great pair. I am very happy to be working with Shatruji’s daughter. He has worked extensively for my banner. In fact I’ve a picture at home with Shatruji when he was shooting for our banner in Bhai Ho To Aisa. I was 6 at that time.”
Says Sajid emotionally, “This is the first time I’ve gone to someone’s house to sign an actor. Everyone comes to my office. But Sonakshi is Shatrughan Sinhaji’s daughter.”
Shatughan Sinha went on to add, “I told Sonakshi that I’ve worked with Sajid’s grandfather and father. Now it’s her turn to continue the tradition. God willing my sons too will work with Sajid.”
Interestingly and incidentally, this is Sonakshi’s third film with Salman. She is already doing the sequel to Dabangg with the star.

Priyanka Chopra beats Akshay Kumar

Priyanka Chopra rocks the TV world. She leaves behind Akshay Kumar in making the reality show, Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi a hit amongst all the reality shows. In the history of KKK, the Fear Factor season 3 had the biggest ever opening. It opened with a 5.5 television viewing
rating (TVR). Priyanka Chopra has added a new charm and freshness to the show which Akshay Kumar lack.
Says Priyanka, "I am delighted with the response that KKK3 has received. That the show has garnered a fabulous opening and has had a consistently high viewership, is very encouraging," adding, "I am grateful for all the support I have received so far."

Reacting to the ratings, Ashvini Yardi, head programming, Colors, says, "After two successful seasons, we thought it was time to refresh the show with a new format. With 13 khiladis and 1 haseena host, it was a risk that paid off extremely well. The opening rating of 5.5 reflects the audience's preference for novelty.

She continues, "Signing Priyanka Chopra as the host added freshness to the format and has helped us garner more eyeballs. The first-week viewership rating for KKK3 is higher than the earlier two seasons or any other reality show on other channels."
Well, not only in films but Priyanka is rocking in television also.

Mallika Sherawat says Priyanka Chopra copies her

Mallika Sherawat and Priyanka Chopra 200x262 Actress Mallika Sherwat, who was missing from the Bollywood scenario for a long time, is now back to India and she has opened her bold mouth again. Recently, the actress came back to Mumbai from Los Angeles for her next Bollywood project Double Dhamaal.
Mallika sounded very upset with Bollywood star Priyanka. The Hiss girl has reportedly said that Priyanka has copied her act in the Color’s reality show ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 3’. An enraged Mallika uttered her disappointment in a very witty manner. She took up the micro blogging site twitter to divulge her ire. She said that Priyanka has deliberately copied her stance.
Priyanka Chopra was seen wrapping a huge python around her neck for the reality show. Mallika has walked the red carpet in this year’s Cannes festival with a black and yellow python wrapped around the neck. Sherawat performed this act to promote her upcoming Hollywood project Hiss, where she plays a snake woman.
The controversy queen of Bollywood, Mallika can probably go to any extent to bring her movie in the limelight. She tweeted that it is just an example of what is in store on future episodes of KKK3. However, hope this act of Mallika’s helps her to gain some attention that she has lost in these years in Bollywood!

Kim Kardashian Fumes Over Newly Released Nude Pics

Kim Kardashian may be used to brandishing pictures of her cleavage through Twitter and other social networks, but the same cannot be said it seems when it comes to the reality star’s nude pics from yesteryears.
Kardashian expressed her displeasure after learning that Playboy, for which she did a photo shoot back in 2007, released more than 20 never-before-seen nude photographs of her. The pictures, 25 of them, were distributed recently to members of the Playboy Cyber Club. A source told Radaronline that “Kim was really upset that the new photos were released.”
The 29-year-old, who posed for Playboy before she became famous for the reality show “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” thought that the nude pics would never see the light of day, the source added. Earlier this year, Kardashian said she regretted doing the Playboy shoot and that it was really her mother who convinced her to accept the offer. “They might never ask you again. Our show isn’t on the air yet. No one knows who you are,” Kardashian quoted her mother as saying.

Source Says Jennifer Lopez Sure to Be “Idol” Judge

Despite all the negative talks about her alleged “diva” demands, Jennifer Lopez is reportedly already a cinch to join Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler as judges of “American Idol” Season 10.
A source cited by Usmagazine said that JLo is definitely joining idol with the contract now ready for Lopez’s signature. Lopez’s hiring could be announced next month, just in time for the beginning of the auditions for the new season. Despite early setbacks, the negotiations “ended up working out and they have a good agreement,” the source said.
Earlier, there were reports that “Idol” producers were having problems agreeing to Lopez’s “divalike” demands, although those claims were never substantiated. Another report claims that Lopez will receive $12 million to sit in the panel. The offer is reportedly down from the $15 million that Lopez demanded.
Jackson is the only holdover judge from the previous season, following the resignation of Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres, as well as the firing of Kara DioGuardi.

John Mayer Shuts Down Twitter Account

John Mayer has decided to stay silent, at least on Twitter. The musician deleted his Twitter account on Monday, saying goodbye to his 3.7 million followers on the micro-blogging site.
Mayer’s Twitter retirement did not come without a warning, though, as the 32-year-old multiple-Grammy winner had tweeted three days ago a black and white photo of himself using a laptop with the caption: “Self Portrait of The Artist Three Days Before His Metaphoric Retirement.” The singer’s spokeswoman said the closing of the Twitter account was in line with the coming end of his Battle Studies Tour. The spokeswoman added that Mayer would soon be going back to work on new materials at his studio.
However, Mayer will not be completely cut off from the cyberworld as he still has his personal blog. Mayer had previously used the deleted Twitter account to promote his Battle Studies Tour when he invited students at the University of South Carolina to watch his free show back in February. It was also through the same Twitter account that he apologized after his now infamous Playboy interview.

'Dhobi Ghat' wins praise at TIFF

Aamir
Khan
Aamir Khan's newest project Dhobi Ghat has won acclaim at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

According to IANS, TIFF co-director Cameron Bailey lauded the actor's performance in the picture.

"Dhobi Ghat has Aamir Khan in a role of an artist that you often don't see him in - he has done a terrific job," he said.

Director Kiran Rao also won praise from the festival organiser.

"I think she is part of a generation of filmmakers that we are seeing come up now in India - a new school in international cinema.

"This generation is not making films out of the Indian commercial cinema context, but making films that are referencing American independent cinema or European cinema or Asian cinema," said Bailey.

Dhobi Ghat is expected to release commercially at the end of 2010.

Wife directs Bollywood star Aamir Khan in latest film

TORONTO — Bollywood icon Aamir Khan was "nervous" about his wife Kiran Rao's directing debut and shocked by her initial refusal to cast him in "Dhobi Ghat (Mumbai Diaries)," he said at its world premiere in Toronto.
The film features Khan as brooding painter Arun who strikes up a flirtation with an American Indian woman named Shai (Monica Dogra) visiting her family in Mumbai with the city's sprawling laundry district, or dhobi ghat, as the backdrop.
"When (Rao) told me she was writing a script I was very nervous," Khan said, "because I was thinking one of these days this script is going to be completed and I'll have to read it and what if I don't like it, it won't be a very comfortable situation."
"I was feeling bad," he said. "I thought, I hope she doesn't complete the script."
When it was finished, Khan pressed Rao to go visit his cousin and they would all read it together, hoping that if both he and his cousin disliked it "at least I'd have numbers on my side. "I was really quite terrified."
But after reading it, Khan said he became "fascinated by what she had written."
"It's so delicate and beautiful," he said. "Her characters speak in such a different and unique voice, and all of that hit me and I thought, 'Wow I married a really talented women here.'"
"When I fell in love the first time, I didn't know how really talented she was. When I read the script I was really amazed and I fell in love with her again," he gushed.
Then, when Rao refused to cast him -- shock. Rao explained that she did not want to work with known actors. "She didn't want me in the film. I was most upset," Khan quipped.
Of course, she would later relent, saying he "tricked" her into it with his "diabolical and Machiavellian" cunning and charms.
"Actually, this character is so crabby and unpleasant and one morning she saw me in my usual crabby self, and she said, 'You know you're perfect for the role,'" Khan said.
And so how was it to be directed by his wife? "I felt like I was at home," Khan quipped.
"They're just the cutest together," commented Prateik Babbar, who earned a standing ovation at the premiere for his performance as Zohaib, a laundry man shared by Arun and Shai.
The film is among a handful of Indian films screening at the Toronto film festival this year, as in years past.
Its release comes just as Canada launches audiovisual co-production negotiations with India, hoping to boost its film sector.
Canada's Heritage Minister James Moore said last week that co-productions attract foreign investment and rake in 30 percent more at the Canadian box office.
Khan noted, however, that recognition at an international film festival does not help with distribution back home in India, only with foreign distribution.
Receiving an audience award at the Toronto film festival or the Palme d'Or at Cannes, for example, is a "sure, sure way of telling (Indian) audiences not to go to a film," he said.

Is That Really Brad?

Like the idea of having Brad Pitt all to yourself?

But not sure how to get round the obstacle of Angelina Jolie and their ever increasing family?

We think we've found a way.

This slightly strange shot of Brad is in fact a photo of his action figure - a replica of his Inglourious Basterds character Lt. Aldo Raine and a very good replica at that.

It took a second glance for us to realise it wasn't actually the man himself.

But we think it's almost as good as the real deal. Apart from the fact that it's only 30 cm tall. But then, you can't have everything.

Britney Speaks Out

Britney Spears has been accused of sexual harassment by a former bodyguard.

Fernando Flores has filed a lawsuit against the superstar claiming "sexual harassment and intentional infliction of emotional distress."
But a spokesperson for Britney has belittled the claims with a statement on her official website: "This lawsuit is another unfortunate situation where someone is trying to take advantage of the Spears family and make a name for himself.

"The Department of Children and Family Services conducted a proper investigation surrounding Mr. Flores' accusations and have closed the case without any further action. Ms. Spears and her attorneys have every expectation that this matter will be dismissed by the courts."
And the singer isn't the only family member to speak out. Her ex-husband's lawyer has also made a statement saying that the accusations have been fabricated.

Kevin Federline's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, said: "He (Kevin) is satisfied that the allegations are a product of economic motives.

"They are as baseless as they seem."

He went on to say that if Kevin deemed his children, Sean Preston and Jayden James, to be in danger, he would have already taken action.

In addition, he added that the details of the lawsuit had been leaked to the media before it had even been filed with the courts, casting further doubt over the bodyguard's motives.
He told the Associated Press: "I think that the timing of this and the nature of the allegations speak for themselves."

Angelina Needs Friends

It's difficult to feel sorry for Angelina Jolie.

With Brad Pitt as her man and a stellar Hollywood career, not to mention genes to die for, she's not too hard done by.

But there is something that might be making Ange feel a little sad.

The poor lady doesn't have any friends.

Speaking on US television from Pakistan, where she's visiting the flood-hit country as a UN Goodwill Ambassador, the actress admitted that Brad is her closest confidante.

Asked who she speaks to about the pressures of work : "I'll talk to my family, I talk to Brad. he wants to know as much as he can about these issues and he's been here as well.

"I don't have a lot of friends I talk to - I tell my children why I'm going and I explain to them why I was packing flashlights and food."

We're not surprised Angelina doesn't have a lot of girlfriends - as you can see from our gallery she's far too busy living a not-so-normal showbiz life.
