Emma Watson gets her first role after completing the production of "Harry Potter" film franchise in "My Week with Marilyn". Now the first picture of her in the biopic has emerged via Daily Mail. It shows her as her character Lucy, an assistant in the wardrobe department at Pinewood studios in 1956, sporting a wig which has bangs and standing among some clothes.

"My Week with Marilyn" has Michelle Williams taking the lead role of Marilyn Monroe. The movie is based on the diary of Colin Clark who was Laurence Olivier's assistant who looked after Monroe when she arrived in London to film "The Prince and The Showgirl".

Extended Preview of 'Vampire Diaries' January Return

"The Vampire Diaries" officially signed off from its Fall season on Thursday, December 9 with "By the Light of the Moon". It will return on January 27 with a new episode called "The Descent" where things are going downhill for Rose.

The extended preview given by The CW reveals that the character played by Lauren Cohan would go through a various stage of changes including dementia that would eventually lead to her death. Jules, however, has a solution to end her suffering, telling Damon to put a stake into her heart.

'Harry Potter' Star Michael Gambon Trying His 'Luck' on HBO Series

Michael Gambon jumps from big to small screen and he's making his first U.S. television debut at the same time. The Brit is to take a recurring role on HBO drama series "Luck" which is about several characters who are tied to the same horse-racing track.

Produced under David Milch/Michael Mann collaboration, "Luck" puts Dustin Hoffman in the lead role named Ace Brenstein. Now Gambon is to play a yet-to-be-named character who is "a nemesis or worthy adversary for" Brenstein. Gambon previously worked with Mann in Oscar nominated film "The Insider".

Larry Hagman Lands Cameo Role on 'Desperate Housewives'

Former "Dallas" star Larry Hagman is heading to Wisteria Lane. He's signed up to film a cameo appearance in "Desperate Housewives", despite never having seen an episode of the hit show.

The veteran actor has confirmed he will play a love interest of Felicity Huffman's character's mum Stella Wingfield, played by Polly Bergen. He tells The Hollywood Reporter, "I just decided (to do it), and am going to shoot next week."

But Hagman admits he is clueless about the hit program and is cramming in as many episodes as possible before he shoots his scenes, "I can watch a hundred episodes on my iPad. I never watch television, so I better get started so I can see what the show's all about."

First Official Trailer for 'Thor' Ignites Epic War

The long awaited official trailer for another Marvel's film "Thor" has finally been made available for viewing pleasure via Yahoo! Movies. It basically contains similar scenes to those featured in a trailer screened at Comic Con this July, which was then leaked to the web few days later.

It starts with Chris Hemsworth's Thor who tries to break free from what looks like a research facility, knocking down some guards. He, however, ends up being interrogated by Agent Coulson who asks his background. The scenes then switch to the Hall of Asgard as Thor recalls why and how he is cast down to Earth.

'Glee' Super Bowl Episode Photos Come Out

"Glee" fans who can't wait to get a glimpse of the Super Bowl episode may crave on some set photos which have come out online. The pics, which are available on Daily Mail, show New Direction members in football jerseys, not only the boys but a particular girl as well.

Usually reserved and feminine, Rachel Berry donned a full football gear, taking the number 1. Also seen in the pictures which are taken in what looks like a field, are Cory Monteith's Finn and Chord Overstreet's Sam. Daily Mail added that Mark Salling's Puck is also on the field while Chris Colfer's Kurt and Darren Criss' Blaine are spotted sitting on the bleachers to cheer Rachel.

Lea Michele herself has hinted in the past that she is going rough in the episode. "It's a lot of football stuff. You may or may not see me in a football uniform. That I will say," she told Entertainment Tonight. The episode airs on February 6 after the all-day coverage of Super Bowl XLV.

Preview of 'Smallville' and 'Supernatural' First 2011 Episode

When "Smallville" returns to screen in 2011, fans will be able to see some familiar faces such as Lionel Luthor, Chloe Sullivan and Martha Kent. While Lionel had appeared in an episode earlier this season, this would mark the big return of Allison Mack who quit the show in May, as well as Annett O'Toole's.

"Collateral" kicks off the last 11 episodes of Clark Kent's story before he is recognized as Superman. At the 2010 San Diego Comic Con, it was mentioned that Mack would be back in at least 5 episodes. Meanwhile, Lionel had said previously that he wanted to see how this ends, sparking speculation that he's going to appear in the finale.

On another news Warner Bros. TV is giving fans the opportunity to appear in an upcoming episode as citizens of Metropolis. The February 4 episode titled "Beacon" will feature a video of civilians thanking "The Blur" for being a hero. Now fans are allowed to tape themselves as Metropolis citizens thanking The Blur. Producer: 'Dexter' Finale Is 'Therapeutic' and Without 'Bloodbath'

This Sunday, December 12, "Dexter" is going to wrap another season and if history repeats, it would be the talk of the town. Reporters are quick to dig out as little information as they can get of what lies ahead. Executive producer Sara Colleton is the one providing them.

In an interview with E! Online, Colleton addressed what kind of feeling that viewers will get after watching the episode. Last season "Dexter" killed its heroine Rita in a horrific way, leaving a permanent scar to both Dexter and the show's fans. "You won't need therapy this time. The finale is actually quite therapeutic. It's like therapy in and of itself," she said.

New 'True Grit' Clips Shared

This Christmas holiday, Paramount Pictures will drop PG-13-rated "True Grit". Ahead of its release, the studio teases audience with some new clips, following Mattie Ross before she joins U.S. marshal Reuben J. Cogburn on a mission to find Tom Chaney, a man responsible for her father's murder, until she encounters the coward herself.

Fourteen-year-old Ross' father has been shot in cold blood by Chaney, and she is determined to bring him to justice. Enlisting the help of a trigger-happy, drunken marshal Cogburn, she sets out with him - over his objections - to hunt down Chaney. Her father's blood demands that she pursue the criminal into Indian territory and find him before a Texas Ranger named LeBoeuf catches him and brings him back to Texas for the murder of another man.

James Cameron Working on Cirque Du Soleil 3-D Movie

James Cameron has signed up to transform the spectacular stage shows of Cirque Du Soleil into a big budget 3D movie. The "Avatar" film-maker will produce the project which will bring the Canadian circus troupe to cinemas, while "Shrek" director Andrew Adamson is set to step behind the camera.

The film will reportedly incorporate scenes from a number of Cirque shows and pave the way for a franchise of films. A statement from Cameron reads, "(This will be) an art form beyond the imagination. The images we've been shooting are stunning, and I know Andrew Adamson will weave them into a transporting, dream-like narrative which will mesmerize audiences of all ages around the world."

Miley Cyrus is set become roommates with rock offspring Kelly Osbourne in new action-comedy film "So Undercover". The "Hannah Montana" star will play a private detective who is hired by officials at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to go undercover at a college.

Osbourne has signed up to play Cyrus' roommate, according to Variety. Filming is due to begin this month in New Orleans ahead of a 2011 release. Tom Vaughan is attached to direct the action comedy with the script provided by Allan Loeb and Steven Pearl.

'Alice in Wonderland' and 'Tron Legacy' Among Oscar Visual Effects Semifinalists

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced 15 films that make it into the semifinal stage for Oscar nomination consideration for Achievement in Visual Effects. Those who are named on the list include "Alice in Wonderland", "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I", "Inception", "Iron Man 2" and "Tron: Legacy".

The list will be narrowed down to 7 in early January 2011 by the Executive Branch of AMPAS' Executive Committee. The final nominations, meanwhile, will be announced on January 25 at 5:30 A.M. PT, live from the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater.

Kind-hearted Oprah Winfrey tops the list of the most charitable celebrities. The media mogul is estimated to have donated more than $41 million through her initiative, Oprah Winfrey Foundation, which helps those in need for education access and programs for women and children.

This is not the first time Oprah leads the most generous celebrities list compiled by The Giving Back Fund. In fact, it's her third on the top spot. "There are many generous celebrities, but when you can top a list of celebrity philanthropists three out of four years, as Oprah has, that is saying something," Marc Pollick, president of The Giving Back Fund, said.

Coming at the second place is novelist Nora Roberts. She gave away around $4.45 million to her organization supporting literacy, children's programs and other humanitarian efforts. and her hubby Donald J. Gummer follow at the third with a total of $4 million in donation to the Silver Mountain Foundation for the Arts.

"Combined these celebrities donated nearly $80 million of their personal wealth to charities. We hope that in recognizing the extraordinary generosity of these celebrities, we will encourage and promote greater and more authentic giving among those blessed with both wealth and fame," Marc added.

 Comic Book Movie has got its hand on some new set pictures of "X-Men: First Class". Taken from Jekyll Island, Georgia, the photos do not document any shooting process but feature the set which is being built. Seen among the not-yet-assembled pieces is the cockpit of Blackbird aka X-Jet.

Blackbird is a famous jet used by the X-Men and it is their main mode of transportation.  Angelina Jolie is calling for a new law to protect celebrities and their families from unscrupulous photographers who get too close to stars' kids. The Hollywood actress has six children with her partner Brad Pitt and the famous family is a regular target for the paparazzi.

Jolie admits some snappers scare the youngsters by getting too close, and although she doesn't want to stop the photographers doing their job, she wishes a law was in place to force them to keep their distance and use long lenses to avoid unnerving the children.

She tells Larry King, "I do think and I do hope that there will at some point be laws about how close they can get to children with cameras. Because I think at some point it's going to be clearer that it's emotionally not healthy. And with long lenses, there's no need."

Dianna Agron Fires Her Manager and Agent

 "Glee" star Dianna Agron has reportedly fired her manager and agent after a series of disagreements over her burgeoning career. The blonde beauty found fame last year with her portrayal of cheerleader Quinn Fabray on the hit series and she's since starred in a number of films, including "Burlesque" alongside Cher and Christina Aguilera.

But she's said to have been unhappy with the guidance of manager Lena Roklin and her representatives at the Gersh Agency, and has now switched to top talent firm the William Morris Endeavor company.

A source tells New York Post's gossip column PageSix, "She is delighted with the success of Glee and her role. But she parted ways with them around a month ago.

Christina Applegate Offered $10,000 for Real Pole Dancing

 Pregnant actress Christina Applegate has been offered $10,000 to dance in a strip club for real after impressing bosses with her spoof pre-natal pole dancing video. The actress, who is expecting her first child with her fiance Martyn Lenoble, played for laughs by stripping off to tiny shorts and a crop top to grind against a pole in a clip posted on Will Ferrell's comedy website FunnyOrDie.com.

Applegate, playing a character called Roxie Fedaro, caresses her bump and says, "Many pregnant women experience these things called hormones because you're like a total fat a**. You don't feel sexy any more... (But) just because you put on an extra 50 pounds does not mean you are not hot..."

Katie Price Furious Over Jokes About Her Disabled Son

 British model-turned-reality TV star Katie Price has called in her lawyers after a comedian told a series of sick jokes about her disabled son. Scottish funnyman Frankie Boyle cracked several gags about eight-year-old Harvey during his "Tramadol Nights" show on U.K. network Channel 4.

Referring to Price's battle with her ex-husband, singer Peter Andre, for custody of the child, Boyle said, "Eventually one of them will lose and have to keep him." He also suggested Harvey - who is blind, autistic, and suffers from a condition that makes him gain weight easily - could be prone to attacking his mother.

Price was so disgusted by the remarks, she issued a statement blasting Boyle and is consulting her lawyer about the possibility of taking legal action. She tells Britain's Daily Mail, "Harvey Price is a little miracle.

Eight Wax Figures of Lady GaGa Unveiled Around the World

 Lady GaGa's fans can get up close and personal with their idol now that her eight wax figures are displayed at Madame Tussauds museums around the world. On December 9, Madame Tussauds in London, Berlin, New York, Las Vegas, Hollywood, Amsterdam, Shanghai and Hong Kong simultaneously unveiled the wax models which each has different looks.

London's version of GaGa's figure is dressed in a Giorgio Armani suit accessorized with Rococo coiffed hair and a Philip Treacy hat in the shape of a telephone which she wore in the England's capital earlier this year. Berlin's version sports a black revealing outfit added with knee-high boots and sunglasses.

The wax in New York wears a black see-through net dress and has her blonde locks splayed out into a huge sun-hat teamed. The one in Madame Tussauds museum at The Venetian Resort Casino in Las Vegas has her dressed in a tight one-shouldered leather outfit with huge platform shoes.

Marion Cotillard Rumored Engaged to Guillaume Canet

 French actress Marion Cotillard is rumored to be engaged to her longterm boyfriend Guillaume Canet after she was spotted wearing a diamond ring on her left hand. The 35-year-old Oscar-winner has been dating the actor/director, who was previously married to Diane Kruger, since 2007.

The notoriously private couple is now said to be moving towards marriage after Cotillard was seen wearing a sparkling band on her ring finger during an appearance at the Marrakech Film Festival in Morocco over the weekend.

Canet was married to German actress Kruger from 2001 until 2006. He has appeared on screen with Cotillard twice, in 2003's "Love Me If You Dare" and "The Last Flight" in 2009.

Mel Gibson's Private Photos Canceled Church Service

 Mel Gibson has reportedly stopped congregational services at his California church after paparazzi photos of the actor and his daughter at the institution surfaced online this week. Photos of Gibson and baby Lucia, his daughter with ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, were taken on the grounds of Holy Family Chapel in Agoura at the weekend, before appearing on TMZ.com on Tuesday.

A source tells the website the actor has now shut down mass services because he was "extremely concerned about the invasion of privacy". Instead, Gibson is reportedly offering only limited services for long term parishioners for an undisclosed period of time. Church members are said to have received an email from officials on Wednesday, December 8 stating, "There will be no Masses here at Holy Family Chapel until further notice."

Keith Richards Kills Pricey Flower With Smoke

 The Rolling Stones hellraiser Keith Richards is in trouble again. He's been accused of destroying an expensive flower with his cigarette.

The legendary guitarist was reportedly enjoying a smoke at the main branch of the New York Public Library prior to a guest appearance in October this year, and stubbed out his cigarette in a clay saucer holding the plant pot. Staff at the office of Marie d'Origny, deputy director of the Cullman Center, opened a window to ventilate the room once Richards had left - but the chilly air and nicotine smoke caused the orchid to wilt and die, according to a blogger.

But d'Origny is unlikely to complain to the rocker's reps about his behavior. Before leaving the building, Richards signed the saucer as a memento of his visit.

Kelly Osbourne Postpones Much-Needed Surgery

 Rock offspring Kelly Osbourne has been putting off much-needed surgery on her feet for over a year - because the recovery period from the operation will keep her off her feet for a month. The singer and reality TV star has been suffering from foot problems for a while and she admits her stint on U.S. reality show "Dancing with the Stars" last year only "made it worse".

But curing the ailment requires doctors to do more damage to her bones before they can fix them - and the thought of putting her feet up for weeks on end has the 26 year old running scared. Osbourne tells Eonline.com's Marc Malkin, "It was going to happen but (Dancing with the Stars) kicked it up about 10 years. They have to break bones in my feet and reset them."

"I've put it off because I've not been ready to not walk for a month."

Reality Star Alexis Neiers Sent to Rehab

 Embattled reality star Alexis Neiers has avoided extra jail time and been ordered to check into a year-long rehabilitation program after she was arrested for drug possession earlier this month. The 19 year old, who starred in U.S. TV series "Pretty Wild", was jailed last week after failing to check in with her probation officer, stemming from her involvement in a raid on actor Orlando Bloom's Hollywood home last year.

When police moved to arrest her, they reportedly found her in possession of black tar heroin and a fake identity card. The member of the infamous 'Bling Ring' burglary gang was hauled into court on Thursday, December 9 to face a possible two-year jail term for the parole violation.

However, Judge Peter Espinoza decided instead to sentence her to rehab - although he issued her with a stern warning should she slip up in her recovery.

Gwyneth Paltrow Is Last Walk of Fame Star Recepient This Year

 Gwyneth Paltrow will be honored with the 30th and final star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2010. The Oscar winner's "Country Strong" co-star Tim McGraw will induct her into the famous pavement when Paltrow unveils the 2,427th star on Monday, December 13. Paltrow's star will be placed outside Madame Tussauds Hollywood.

LGBT Community Building Named After Cyndi Lauper's Song


Cyndi Lauper will have a New York housing center named after her hit song "True Colors in recognition of her continued work with the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.

The lifelong activist has been a regular visitor to the New York City Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center in recent months and she's been working with members of the venue's Youth Enrichment Services program to further raise awareness about equality issues and help parents understand their kids' lifestyle choices.

Julia Roberts Pictured Confronting Paparazzi

 Julia Roberts goes from "Pretty Woman" to a lady with swagger when it comes to her family's privacy. The movie beauty was recently spotted confronting a paparazzi when she noticed him taking pictures of her family in Los Angeles.

On Monday, December 6, Roberts was walking with her husband Danny Moder and her three children, 6-year-old twins Hazel Patricia Moder and Phinnaeus "Finn" Walter Moder and 3-year-old Henry Daniel Moder. In a photo obtained by Radar, the 43-year-old actress, donning a blazer and sunglasses, was seen getting right into the photographer's face.

This is not the first time Roberts takes action to paparazzi following her and her family. Back in 2009, she had been caught on camera swearing and ranting at a photographer whom she accused of following her all day long. "You are harassing me.

College to celebrate Dilip Kumar birthday

 The G.N. Khalsa College here will Saturday celebrate the 88th birthday of veteran actor Dilip Kumar, one of its oldest students.

On Saturday, students will donate 88 bottles of blood. A college hall will be named after the actor, college principal Ajit Singh told IANS.

The actor will not be present at the celebrations. A group of students and teachers will visit the actor’s residence to honour him with the title of ‘Patron Alumnus’.

‘Dilip Sa’ab was very happy with the idea when I told him,’ Singh added.

Known as the Tragedy King of Bollywood, Dilip Kumar is known for classics like ‘Devdas’, ‘Madhumati’, ‘Naya Daur’ and mangnum opus ‘Mughal-e-Azam’. Later he featured in character roles in ‘Karma’, ‘Shakti’ and ‘Saudagar’.
