Lindsay Lohan Would Love to Play Carrie in Stephen King Remake

Lindsay Lohan has had some trouble landing roles in the past few years, thanks to a string of box office bombs and the exorbitant cost of guaranteeing her insurance. But there may be a promising new project on Lohan's horizon, as writer Stephen King revealed to Entertainment Weekly that Lohan's name has been floated around a new film adaptation of King's horror classic Carrie.

"I've heard rumblings about a Carrie remake, as I have about The Stand and It. Who knows if it will happen? The real question is why, when the original was so good? I mean, not Casablanca, or anything, but a really good horror-suspense film, much better than the book ... Although Lindsay Lohan as Carrie White... hmmm. It would certainly be fun to cast. I guess I could get behind it if they turned the project over to one of the Davids: Lynch or Cronenberg," King mused.

As exciting as it would be to witness Lohan get drenched in faux pig's blood, the chances of her nabbing the title role in a Carrie remake are slim to none: She no longer has what it takes to play a high school student—especially not a cloistered Christian girl who has probably never smoked a cigarette in her life. Yet TMZ reports that Lindsay has told friends she's "stoked" at the prospect of working on a Steven King title. Dare to dream!
