First Look of 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' Creatures

The soft opening of Diagon Alley at Universal Studio's new Wizarding World of Harry Potter attraction has led to the unveiling of the Fantastic Beasts. A photo of these creatures' life-size models is the closest idea of how they will look like in the "Harry Potter" spin-off film.

USA Today has snapped a picture from inside the Magical Menagerie shop where strange-looking animals from the popular J.K. Rowling books are visualized for the first time. There's a blue griffin sitting in between an ape-like and a unicorn-like creatures.

It is yet confirmed whether the same visualizations will be used in "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them". The film is based on Rowling's novel of the same title which she originally wrote for charity. It was confirmed last September that the Hogwarts schoolbook would be made into a movie with Rowling making her screenwriting debut.

Pic will feature the book's fictitious author, Newt Scamander. It's neither a prequel nor a sequel to the Harry Potter series, but an extension of the wizarding world. The laws and customs of the hidden magical society will be familiar to Harry Potter's fans, but Newt's story will start in New York, seventy years before Harry's gets underway.

According to the Independent, the spin-off "will be filmed at the Warner Bros complex in Hertfordshire, where all the original Harry Potter films were made." It is aiming for November 18, 2016 release.

In North America, "Age of Extinction" still reigned in its second weekend with additional $36.2 million for a total of $174.6 million. It easily edged out newcomers "Tammy", "Deliver Us from Evil" and "Earth to Echo" which all debuted over the Fourth of July weekend.

Avengers Won't Make Cameo in 'Big Hero 6'

Since both Big Hero 6 and The Avengers are Marvel's properties, there is a question if there will be a crossover story. In a new interview with Total Film, "Big Hero 6" director Don Hall confirms the Earth's Mightiest Heroes will not appear in the upcoming animated superhero flick.

"Very early on, when we were collaborating with Marvel, the decision was made to intentionally not connect it to the Marvel universe," Hall explains. "Everybody felt like it would be great for us to take this idea of theirs and make our own universe with it."

"Marvel really encouraged us to do that. So there'll be no Iron Man or Captain America, and no Avengers in this world," he continues. "Our Avengers are the Big Hero 6."

From the creators of "Frozen (2013)" and "Wreck-It Ralph", the film has Jamie ChungT.J. Miller, and Maya Rudolph among the voice cast. It's scheduled to arrive Stateside November 7 this year before hitting theaters overseas starting February 13, 2015.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie to Shoot New Film in Malta

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are moving forward with their joint movie project. The couple was scouting locations for the filming in Europe last month and decided that Malta would be it.

"I'm happy that Hollywood producers have once again chosen Malta for their project, and we will be delighted to host Mr. Pitt, Ms. Jolie, and their family for the second time in just a few years," Prime Minister of Malta Joseph Muscat told Us Weekly. "I'm sure that this film will help put our beautiful sister island of Gozo on the world map."

Brangelina and their six kids stayed in the country when Pitt filmed "World War Z" there in 2011. An insider told Us, "They'll be filming in Mgarr ix-Xini Bay in Gozo. The whole family will be staying in Malta for eight weeks, arriving at the end of August."

The project is still a mystery but sources said it would be a love story that Jolie had been talking about. Back in May, the 39-year-old actress confirmed that she was thinking of reuniting with her lover on-screen for the first time since 2005's "Mr and Mrs Smith" in a film she wrote. She then told Extra, "It's not a big movie, it's not an action movie." She added, "It's the kind of movie we love but aren't often cast in. It's a very experimental, independent-type film where we get to beactors together and be really raw, open, try things."

"He treated everyone with respect and love. He was never treating anybody differently because of who they were. He was really a guy's guy. And loved his daughter so much and talked about her all the time. He never cared about Hollywood. He never cared about the hype," Alba adds.

In the interview, she also discusses her own body and how she deals with insecurities. "I have to enhance what I like about my body and my stomach is good. My legs I'm not as excited about all the time, but I wouldn't cover up my stomach. That's what women do. Enhance what we've got," she shares.

Alba's upcoming movie "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For" is set to hit U.S. theaters on Friday, August 22. In addition to Alba, the sequel to 2005's "Sin City" stars the original cast members such as Rosario DawsonClive Owen and Bruce Willis as well as newly-added stars that include Eva GreenJosh BrolinJoseph Gordon-Levitt and Lady GaGa

'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' to Film in the U.K.

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" has found a shooting location. U.K. Culture Secretary Sajid Javid announces in an event that the upcoming Harry Potter spin-off is going to be filmed at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in the United Kingdom. The news is later confirmed by WB.

The movie is planned to hit theaters on November 18, 2016. It aims at launching a new trilogy, with two sequels expected to follow. The first installment will be written by J.K. Rowling herself based on the Hogwarts textbook of the same title which features Newt Scamander, the schoolbook's fictitious author in the Potterverse.

It is set 70 years before the events of the "Harry Potter". It's neither a prequel nor a sequel to the "Harry Potter" series, but an extension of the wizarding world. The laws and customs of the hidden magical society will be familiar to the "Harry Potter" fans, but Newt's story will start in New York, seventy years before Harry's.
Alfonso Cuaron who helmed "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" was previously rumored to serve behind the lens for the spin-off, but he denied the report. "I tremendously admire J.K. Rowling, but today, for the present, projects based around lots of visual effects don't attract me," he said. "I'm coming out of a five-year process of doing visual effects and now I sort of want to clean my palate of that a little bit."
