Hilary Duff NOT Dumped From 'The Story of Bonnie and Clyde' Due to Pregnancy

Hilary Duff is no longer attached to play Bonnie Parker in "The Story of Bonnie and Clyde". Words have run rampant that the wife of Mike Comrie got dumped from the film project because of her pregnancy, but Tonya Holly, the president of Cypress Moon Productions, insisted to EW that was "not true at all."

In a follow-up statement released on Monday, August 22, Holly and fellow producer Tom Rogers made clear it was the scheduling conflicts that forced Hilary to back out of the project. The producer duo further noted that the 23-year-old actress "would not be available until June 2012."

"While production has been pushed several times due to financial, scheduling and other factors such as tornadoes devastating some of our locations, we are currently gearing up to start production later this year," they explained in the statement. "Unfortunately we now faced with scheduling conflicts with our leads Hilary Duff and Kevin Zegers."

Holly and Rogers additionally mentioned that Zegers, who is expected to play Clyde Barrow, "would not be available until January of the new year." They continued, "Due to our obligations with investors and international buyers it is imperative that we stick to our current schedule. Therefore we are forced to explore other options for the two lead roles."

"The Story of Bonnie and Clyde" promises to uncover times in the lives of the infamous outlaw duo, Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, that have never been seen on the big screen before. Aside from taking on the productional duty, Holly is also expected to serve behind the lens. The cast ensemble, meanwhile, includes Matt Dallas and Taryn Manning.
