A couple of new images from the Cold War thriller Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy have hit the web. Directed by Tomas Alfredson (Let the Right One In), the adaptation of John Le Carre’s novel centers on semi-retired agent George Smiley (Gary Oldman) who is pulled out of semi-retirement to ferret out a Soviet mole within MI6. In addition to Oldman, the phenomenal cast includes Colin Firth, Tom Hardy, Mark Strong, Ciaran Hinds, John Hurt and Toby Jones. When speaking with Steve earlier this year, Oldman said that his part in this film is probably the greatest role he’s ever played. Needless to say, this one should definitely be on your radar. Hit the jump to check out Tom Hardy in a really bad wig, as well as a synopsis of Le Carre’s novel.
Here’s the synopsis for John Le Carre’s Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy:
It is now beyond doubt that a mole, implanted decades ago by Moscow Centre, has burrowed his way into the highest echelons of British Intelligence. His treachery has already blown some of its most vital operations and its best networks. It is clear that the double agent is one of its own kind. But which one? George Smiley is assigned to identify him. And once identified, the traitor must be destroyed.
