Matt Damon's Fake Rep Caused Chaos at Gwen Stefani's Show

An impostor pretending to represent Matt Damon caused chaos at Gwen Stefani's New York Fashion Week show by demanding front row seats for the actor and his wife at the last minute - even though the couple was in Los Angeles.

A man known as Jay Berman, who claimed to be the star's main point of contact in the Big Apple, is alleged to have reached out to representatives at Stefani's agency the Schiff Company last week and requested highly-coveted tickets to the pop star's L.A.M.B. show on Thursday, February 17.

Fashion show organizers were forced to rapidly rework the seating plan to
accommodate Berman's late request, which was believed to have been made for Damon, his wife Luciana Barroso and a pal named Peter Gianquinto. But event bosses and photographers were left baffled when the Damons failed to show - leaving two security guards to fill the seats as the models began to walk the runway.

Damon's longterm publicist, Jennifer Allen, has distanced the Hollywood star from the controversy - insisting the actor, who has never shown an interest in fashion week events, has been busy filming in Los Angeles since last Tuesday. She tells the New York Post's Page Six column, "He's never been to a fashion show, to my knowledge. No one called me to check."
