'The Amazing Spider-Man' Unleashes Two More Oscorp Industries Viral Videos

Columbia Pictures continues with its viral campaign for "The Amazing Spider-Man". A little over a month before the superhero movie hits the theaters, a pair of new Oscorp Industries videos are released online. Featuring Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors, they give an idea that the scientist is in his early transformation phase to be the Lizard.

The viral video aside, Connors' part in the reboot movie was discussed by producers Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach in a recent interview with Omelete. Arad offered a brief insight into the relationship between the villain and the hero, stating that the film takes a look at what Connors means to Peter Parker. Tolmach added that Connors' story serves as a cautionary tale for the web-slinging hero.

During the chat, Tolmach also talked about the reboot itself. "It's a story about a boy trying to become a man, it's about that time in life when we're all struggling with who we are and what it means to have power and responsibility yet you just wanna be a kid," he said. "Without knowing it, but we knew it, we wanted to get back to telling that story."

On the subject of Gwen Stacey, Arad said, "The Gwen story was always very unique because of the father being the head of police. All these metaphors become real life; Peter Parker's with a mask, the father is with a badge. The girl who understands what it is to be a daughter of a hero... What [are] the risks to fall in love with someone like that? How that impacts her life and her father's life."

"The Amazing Spider-Man" follows Peter Parker, an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben and Aunt May. When he discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance, leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr. Curt Connors, his father's former partner.

Starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, this superhero movie has director Marc Webb serving behind the lens. It is due to arrive in cinemas across the U.S. on July 3.
