First official photos of Dr. Curt Connors have made its way out. Entertainment Weekly reveals a slew of new images from "The Amazing Spider-Man", and two of them highlight on Rhys Ifans' villainous character, who will become The Lizard. One sees the actor sitting in a messy lab in a white scientist costume, while another displays him shirtless and drenching wet.
The Curt Connors' stills aside, other new pictures feature Peter Parker and other characters, including Gwen's father. One image particularly features injured Parker getting personal with Gwen Stacy, while another sees him at home with Aunt May and Uncle Ben. There is also a close-up snap of Spider-Man's mechanical webshooters.
Unlike the first three "Spider-Man" films, this upcoming movie is promised to present a more "realistic" feel. Screenwriter Steve Kloves hinted in a recent interview that the film is not going to be "cartoony". "I said, 'I can't do 'shazam!' dialogue, that's not what I do," he told Collider.
"If you wanna do the Peter Parker I knew as a kid reading the comic book, I can do that, because it was grounded in exactly what you said, reality," Kloves continued. "So they said 'Yes that's what we want, we want you to come in and write Peter Parker as a real character.' "
"The Amazing Spider-Man" revolves around Peter Parker who is grappling with both contemporary human problems and amazing super-human crises. Andrew Garfield stars as the titular character with Emma Stone, Sally Field, Denis Leary and Martin Sheen among the cast ensemble.
Directed by Marc Webb, this "Spider-Man" reboot is set to come out in theaters across the United States on July 3, 2012.
