‘Ek Tha Tiger’ expected to break more records

 Salman Khan does it again! After giving back-to-back super hits “Wanted”, “Dabangg”, “Ready” and “Bodyguard”, he has hit the bull’s eye once again with “Ek Tha Tiger” which has broken records of opening day collection by earning Rs.33 crore.

The romantic thriller released on Independence Day and trade pundits are expecting the collections to increase during the long weekend, thanks to Eid, which is Monday, and make more new records.

The film’s cost is said to be above Rs.50 crore and “Ek Tha…” marks director Kabir Khan’s third collaboration with Yash Raj Films after “Kabul Express” in 2006 and “New York” in 2009.

Rajesh Thadani, Multimedia Combines, Mumbai, says the film has received the highest opening ever.

“Salman’s movie ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ is doing very well all over. It has been the highest opening ever. In first two days, the film has collected around Rs.47 crore all over India. On the opening day, the film collected Rs.33 crore. It is the highest collection till date for any Indian film,” Thadani told IANS.

“In Mumbai the film collected close to around Rs.17 crore on opening day. There is possibility that the film will break all records and collect Rs.200 crore,” he added.

Vinay Choksey of VIP Exhibitors, Mumbai, seconds Thadani and said: “The film is expected to maintain the craze and the collections will go up during weekend.”

The film that revolves around an Indian secret agent named Tiger collected almost Rs.17 crore on the second day.

Anant Verma, director and business head of DT Cinemas, says “‘Ek Tha Tiger’ opened with 98 percent occupancy”.

“The movie is doing excellent business. There was a lot of hype about it because of which we have had 45 percent online and advance bookings,” Verma told IANS.

“From families to couples, college students to working class came to watch the movie and they are liking it. We are waiting for the weekend and expecting increased footfalls,” he added.

Salman, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) officer, romances Katrina (Zoya), an Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agent in the film.

“Ek Tha…” shows the tumultuous journey of the dark world of intelligence that forbids its soldiers from falling in love.

The story is by Aditya Chopra and the film’s screenplay has been co-written by Kabir Khan and well-known journalist-turned-lyricist-writer Neelesh Misra.

Disney Confirms 'The Avengers 2' May 1, 2015 Release Date

 The report that "The Avengers 2" will hit theaters on May 1, 2015 has been confirmed by Disney. The follow up to record-grossing movie "The Avengers" is coming so late compared to the other Marvel movies because it depends on the cast's schedules.

The sequel will be written and directed by Joss Whedon. Disney announced last week that Whedon has "signed an exclusive deal with Marvel Studios for film and television through the end of June 2015." Apart from "Avengers", he would also develop a new live action series for Marvel Television at ABC and contribute creatively to the next phase of Marvel's cinematic universe.

In its official release date announcement, the Walt Disney Studios also hinted that there will be a new title for the project, writing it this time as "Untitled Marvel's Avengers Sequel".

Lady GaGa Appears Naked in New Video Ad for 'Fame' Perfume

 Lady GaGa released a 30-second spot for her new perfume, Fame. Directed by Steven Klein, the ad is dark in its theme and features GaGa as the naked giant with little men climbing her body. YouTube has flagged the video as "inappropriate" and requested age confirmation for each view.

The previous ad for the fragrance did not feature GaGa at all. Instead, it shows how the black perfume is created in The Haus Laboratories in Paris and states that "black like the soul of fame but invisible once airborne." In the print ad, GaGa shows off her naked body, covered in places by little men.

In a recent interview with Vogue, GaGa revealed the idea behind her risky marketing. "We thought, Let's just make the most epic fragrance campaign of all time and let's not care at all about whether they can even print it or show it on TV," she said. "Let's just do everything we ever dreamed of. We basically did this purely for the pleasure of working together. We were just sort of sitting in the corner going, 'I can't believe they are letting us do this!' "

Bridal collection, Bollywood dominated Delhi Couture Week (DCW)

Delhi Couture Week (DCW) was not without its fair share of glitz, glamour, style and Bollywood tadka. If the third edition was high on wearable designs, a bevy of Bollywood beauties like Katrina Kaif, Madhuri Dixit and Sridevi added that extra zing to the five-day event.

The fashion extravaganza that concluded Sunday had as many as 11 top-notch designers splashing the ramp with vibrant colour, style and a mix of old and new design aesthetics, with focus on bridal collection.

Though the designers were not very keen to talk about business aspect, they said the aim is to make wearable clothes and bridge the gap between ramp and rack.

Designer Varun Bahl flagged off the event and presented a collection with less focus on embroidery and more on wearability. With lehengas, saris and anarkalis in the darker tones in fabric like silk net, chiffon and silk velvet, he attempted to “merge evergreen classic feel of old India with modern dressing styles”.

“Today’s generation want something that are light to carry and yet look elegant and that’s what I wanted to focus on the collection,” Bahl told IANS.

If Bahl was low on embroidery, ace designer Manish Arora was high on needlework. Returning to ramp after a gap of three years, he chose to present a retrospective of his collections shown at Paris Fashion Week over the past few years.

The inspiration for all his garments was “India and its great culture”.

“The collection consists of some my favourite pieces that I showed in Paris. All the pieces have been handcrafted and have meticulous embroideries and embellishments,” he added.

From a mix of ultra-feminine skirts and dresses to streamlined pencil skirts to cigarette pants, Arora’s collection was a visual feast for style conscious people looking for freshness.

Generally couture means high price tags, but designer duo Ashima and Leena Singh say they go by the clients’ budget and requirements.

“Our couture wear range depends on the budget of our client. If a customer wants something in certain price bracket, we are there to give them. Couture today is not meant only for high end customer,” said Leena.

Anamika Khanna and Gaurav Gupta also hogged the limelight by showing different interpretation of sari, which boasted of a modern touch.

Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor, who was present at their show to cheer for them, liked it and said “it was so incredible”.

“They have taken something that was so traditional and so beautiful and presented it in a modern way, which I think was so wonderful. I think they both gave the sari a different outlook altogether. I am incredibly grateful that I could see something like this today,” Sonam told IANS after the show.

If designers managed to woo fashionistas with their collection, Bollywood divas wowed them with their ‘adas’.

If veteran actress Sharmila Tagore brought elegance on the ramp as a showstopper for designer duo Ashima-Leena in a red sari teamed up with a long jacket accesorised well with a “potli” (bag), Hindi films dancing diva Madhuri Dixit scorched the ramp when she took ‘devi’ avatar for Anju Modi and hit the runway in an ivory coloured heavily embroidered lehanga teamed with black choli, maroon dupatta — not to miss the sindoor on her forehead.

Madhuri’s senior Sridevi too came in full force and sashayed down the ramp for finale designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee. The actress, who is making her Bollywood comeback with “English Vinglish”, looked gorgeous in a heavily embroidered cream lehenga and she too wore it with a full-sleeved black blouse.

One couldn’t miss Bollywood extravaganza at Manish Malhotra’s show. If Katrina Kaif and Vidyut Jamwal walked the ramp for him, filmmakers Karan Johar, Madhur Bhandarkar, Satish Kaushik to newcomer Alia Bhatt to Hrithik Roshan’s wife Suzanne occupied the front row to cheer for their favourite designer.

Another highlight of the fashion week was the announcement of joint collaboration of Indo-Dutch fashion by Jan Taminiau, one of the leading couturiers from Netherlands.

Co-initiated by the FDCI foundation, HTNK Fashion recruitment and consultancy foundation and House of Denim, the programme is titled “Dutch Fashion Here & Now India”.

The three-year collaboration will see two designers from Netherlands collaborate with two names from the Indian fashion fraternity to showcase a collection at later date.

Possible Details of First 'Iron Man 3' Trailer Reveal Humorless Scenes

 The production of "Iron Man 3" hasn't even been wrapped, but rumors surrounding the film's first trailer have already swirled on the Internet. It was Ain't It Cool News that claims to have obtained details of the first promotional footage of the armored hero movie. Still, the site notes that the description "might be mulled between now and the time material arrives on computer, television and theater screens."

According to the site, the trailer will [SPOILER ALERT!] open with Tony Stark gushing about how the events in New York (probably from "The Avengers") have changed him. He says that he's just not "into it" anymore. It then shows Iron Man lying down in the middle of rubble with battle damage and taking off his faceplate to reveal his bleeding face.

It cuts to scenes of Stark arguing with Pepper Potts in the armory, attending a press conferences, and talking to someone who seems to be a psychiatrist. There's also a quick glimpse of Rhodey, but not in his War Machine suit. The next scene reportedly sees someone forcefully landing and cracking the ground. It is unclear whether the character is the Mandarin or a silver Iron Man.

After that, a voiceover from Ben Kingsley's character can be heard stating that there are no heroes and that he will teach Stark a lesson. Scenes featuring an alternative suit getting blown up, Stark going into surgery and helicopters launching missile to blow up Stark's home are shown along with the voiceover. It ends with a close-up look at the Mandarin in his armor with no helmet.

The end of the trailer reportedly shows Iron Man swimming towards what looks like a "heart reactor thing." He then walks in the snow, dragging a large back. Judging from the potential description, it seems that the third "Iron Man" film will be darker and humorless compared to its two predecessors.

Bringing back Robert Downey Jr. as the titular superhero, Gwyneth Paltrow as Potts, and Don Cheadle as Rhodey, "Iron Man 3" will hit the U.S. cinemas on May 3, 2013. The Shane Black-directed film is also supported by Kingsley, Guy Pearce, James Badge Dale, Rebecca Hall and former "Iron Man" helmer Jon Favreau.

 Just a few days after Universal Pictures announced the release date for "Rush", the studio has now revealed first official stills from the F1 movie. One of the images highlights lead actor Chris Hemsworth in his red racing suit as he gets surrounded by some pretty girls. 'Breaking Dawn II' Debuts New Images, Reportedly Changes the Ending

 Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart get cozy in a new image from "The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn Part II". The photo is released by Entertainment Weekly, which also unveils several other stills featuring a new look at Mackenzie Foy's Renesmee, Taylor Lautner's Jacob as well as actors who play the Cullens allies.

Along with the release of the fresh images, a rumor suggesting the final installment of the "Twilight Saga" film series will have a different ending from the Stephenie Meyers book has emerged. The report sparked as Rob told EW that he was surprised when first reading "Breaking Dawn II" script, which was said to be quite different from the novel.

"When I first read the script, I got to that part and was like, 'What?' And then I had to go back a page," said the Edward depicter after the magazine mentioned that there would be "a pretty big shock" in the final film as "the plot strays from the last novel in a sequence dreamed up by Meyer and longtime screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg."

Still, it was noted that devoted fans of "Twilight" would be satisfied with the ending. "It does it a serious justice," so Rob promised.

Adding fuel to the rumor was Amadou Ly, who will play vampire Henri in the final movie. Taking to his Twitter, Amadou wrote that the ending would stay true to Stephenie's book but there would be some surprises. "It will still be the same ending but just few exciting surprises," so he teased.

"Breaking Dawn II" focuses on a perilous chain of events after Bella gives birth to Renesmee. Along with her husband Edward and his family, she now must face an all-out battle against the Volturi, which is the fearsome council of vampire leaders. The movie will hit the U.S. cinemas on November 16.

In addition to having the government-sponsored campaign, Riri gave Oprah Winfrey's fans a tour around the country when she appeared on "Oprah's Next Chapter". In a Q&A session, she was grilled with questions about her former boyfriend Chris Brown. "It was embarrassing it was humiliating," she said of their infamous altercation. "I lost my best friend."
