Beyonce Knowles has brought the first televised showcase of "Run the World (Girls)" to "The Oprah Winfrey Show". Wearing a tuxedo leotard, she was accompanied by an army of sexy, geeky girls during the Tuesday night, May 17 performance which was taped for the talk show's finale.
Prior to Beyonce's arousing performance, Oprah Winfrey invited Jackie Evancho and Josh Groban to the stage. The "America's Got Talent" alum sang a song from the "Wizard of Oz", while Josh delivered a rendition of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow".
The other special guests that night were Tom Cruise, Dakota Fanning, Halle Berry, Usher and Alicia Keys. Kicking off the show was Tom Hanks who introduced a fun montage of Oprah's greatest moments. "It's all about love," he said.
Madonna also appeared on stage. "It's no secret that millions of people are inspired by Oprah. I am one of them," she stated. "She's a self-made woman who's been at the top of her game for over 25 years and she is still kicking ass. And she is still kicking ass!"
Aretha Franklin later surprised the audience by taking the stage and singing "Amazing Grace", according to live blogging by The Hollywood Reporters. Responding to the treat, Oprah said, "Enough, Aretha Franklin and Michael Jordan in the same night? What is that?! I can't take it anymore."
The show will air next week. Beyonce, meanwhile, will premiere "Run the World (Girls)" music video on "American Idol" this week.
