Lady GaGa
collaborates with Backplane, which was co-founded by her manager Troy
Carter and had the singer as a major investor, to create her own social
network for her devotees, Little Monsters. Fans can sign up by using
either email, Facebook, or Twitter account.
The new network combines features from Google+, Tumblr, Pinterest, Reddit, Facebook and Ticketmaster, that allow fans to post messages, share pictures and chat in a forum. They can also get updated info on the Mother Monster and purchase tickets for her upcoming shows.
"You can go on somebody's Facebook profile and see they like Lady Gaga, but you don't know to what degree," Backplane CEO Matt Michelsen told Rolling Stone. "Little Monsters shows how many concerts they've attended and their overall level of participation around a common interest."
The new fan-based website has already had over 180,000 members worldwide. Multilingual chat rooms are provided by the developer to enable users from around the globe to interact with one another without worrying about language barrier.
