Lindsay Lohan
reportedly has fed police with lie. The 25-year-old troubled actress
told police investigating her car crash that she didn't sit behind the
wheel, but her male companion contradicted her statement. The man, who
was in the car when the accident happened, testified to the officers
that she's the driver.
Several witnesses at the scene told TMZ that Lindsay and her companion both got out of the car on the passenger side after the wreck. Police reportedly will include her alleged lie in their report, which could trigger a probation violation in her shoplifting case. If she's convicted of giving false information, she could face the possibility of jail on 2 fronts.
The actress, who plays Elizabeth Taylor in TV movie "Liz & Dick", reportedly was questioned while she was still in hospital getting checked out "as a precaution" after the accident. She and her companion were treated for minor bumps and bruises, but nothing was serious. She was later released and was back to work.
Lindsay previously claimed the accident happened because she was cut off by a semi-truck and when she tried to stop her rented Porche, the brakes didn't work. The trucker, meanwhile, said Lindsay was "flying" on the highway and there's no way he could cut her off because he was already in the right lane when the accident occurred.
The trucker also accused the star of trying to bribe him, which she strongly denied as well. He reportedly has hired a lawyer to go to court in an effort to seek compensations for his pain and trouble. He previously said he was fine, but later confessed he was actually injured in the car crash and saw a doctor Sunday, June 10.
