Britney Spears hasn't personally addressed The Wanted's recent allegations that they were not allowed to look at her, but her camp isn't staying quiet. When slamming down the British boyband's recount of their unpleasant interaction with the "Womanizer" hitmaker, her representative joked that Lady GaGa might be the boys' next victim.
Insisting that the story is completely untrue, Britney's representative told E! Online, "What's even more interesting than the false allegations they made is the fact that they have claimed to be picked on by two female pop stars in just a few days." The rep added, "Look out Lady GaGa - there are still three days left this week."
The Wanted dished on their incident with Britney during an interview on New York radio station Fresh 102.7 on Monday, April 30, a few days after they dissed Christina Aguilera by calling her a "b***h". It started when one of the group's members, Tom Parker, revealed, "We signed a confidentiality thing that we should never say anything about what happened, but let's tell it anyway."
Bandmate Siva Kaneswaran then recalled, "I was in the hallway with me tour manager. Basically we were looking with a laptop, trying to get WiFi, and we were facing the middle of the hallway. Her bouncers came down with her and told us to face the wall." Parker added, "As Miss Spears is walking through, We're like, come on!"
Kaneswaran continued to note that the fivesome, who opened for Britney at a show in Manchester in November 2011, "turned around and I faced a wall for about 10 seconds until she got really far away." When it was suggested that Britney's security team were probably just "messing" with the group, he replied, "It was serious."
Fellow band member Jay McGuinness, however, was quick to praise Britney. "But honestly when we actually met her person to person, she was so down to earth," he said. "You can tell she's a total Southern girl and Nathan [Sykes], when he was a kid, won a singing competition. She was one of the judges or something. And she gave him a kiss, it was one of his first kisses as a kid. So he got to meet her again and support her."
