Alyssa Milano and Other Celebs Weigh In on TIME's Controversial Breastfeeding Cover

TIME magazine is raising a lot of eyebrows with the cover photo of its newest issue. Displaying a young mother breastfeeding her three-year-old son, the cover image quickly attracted media attention, sparked online debate about attachment parenting and drew mixed reactions from a number of celebrities.

Among those complaining about the cover were actress Alyssa Milano and model Joanna Krupa. "@Time, no! You missed the mark! You're supposed to be making it easier for breastfeeding moms. Your cover is exploitive & extreme," tweeted Milano, as Krupa posted, "Time magazine cover is pretty disturbing! Breast feeding a 3yr old is wrong! What's wrong w ppl!"

Mayim Bialik of "The Big Bang Theory", meanwhile, took to her Facebook to say, "i am going to bat about this TIME cover photo for all of the amazing women who helped me be the mother i was meant to be. this is for you, La Leche League International and for every lactation consultant and fellow mama warrior who held me while I cried. this is not easy, to try and speak for all of us, but i will do my best to make you proud."

Dane Cook, on the other hand, poked fun at the cover by writing on his Twitter, "Time Magazine's cover is pretty ballsy or tittsy. The kid looks nourished. Wonder if they call that the yum yum chair." Also weighing on on the controversy was Rush Limbaugh, who wrote, "Improving Time's cover: Replace the mother with a Statue of Liberty... and you've got the Obama platform. #rushbabes."

Picking up a cover story that explores the growing trend of "attachment parenting", the cover photo features Jamie Lynne Grumet and her son Aram, who turns 4 in June. In an accompanying interview, the 26-year-old mother said, "People have to realize this is biologically normal. The more people see it, the more it'll become normal in our culture. That's what I'm hoping. I want people to see it."
