The Walt Disney Company has announced that they will be donating proceeds from their world premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. The 3D event will take place on May 7th in Disneyland. Funds raised from premiere ticket sales as well as a percentage of the money made from Pirate’s Booty’s all-natural snacks sold at the event will benefit the charity, which has long been a partner of Disney. Chairman of Walt Disney Studios had this to say:
“The 3D World Premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides at Disneyland Park is going to be our biggest and best yet. Disney has been a longtime supporter of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and we’re thrilled to share such an extraordinary event with this important organization that gives so many kids a chance to embark on their own adventures.”
Additionally, Disney has released a new featurette for the film featuring archival footage from Walt Disney’s presentation of the original Pirates of the Caribbean ride in Disneyland.
